Truth Interview Thursday Spotlight - Shy

Welcome to our Clan Truth Community Spotlight! This week, we decided to highlight none other than Shy the (insert joke here) Guy!

CT: So, Shy, tell us a  little about yourself (without revealing too much identifying information you don’t want to give away. Maybe just tell me your debit card PIN code or something)

Shy: Unofficially?  I’m the Clan Truth Meme Maker, but all my checks go towards the Clan Dues. Officially though, I currently work with the FBI doing background checks for people who attempt to purchase firearms. Before that I was an Analyst for a Ballistic Missile Defense Unit in the US Army. A lot of cool experiences for someone relatively young, (looking at you, Geist). (But Geist is like, old)

CT: Aside from videogames, what hobbies or pastimes do you enjoy?

Shy: A little niche hobby of mine is Map collecting! Any type from old naval charts or current MGRS maps, it helps me keep focus and it helps for being a navigator for road trips!

CT: What is a skill you have that you take pride in?

I like to think that I can make conversation with almost anyone about almost everything. It helps to make friends (Like Corvian!) and learn new things.

CT: Any other fun facts about yourself?

Shy: I can pop my right shoulder out of its socket at-will and just leave it like that or pop it back in place.  It’s not very fun for most people, but it’s a fact! (We’re gonna need some pictures for proof…)

CT: How long have you been playing video games and what are some of your earliest and/or favorite video game memories?

Shy: I think the earliest I remember playing games, was when my mom got me a GameCube for Christmas of 2004. It came with Super Mario Sunshine, Kirby Air Ride and Wind Waker. I think my favorite video game moment that I can really remember clearly, was a Wrath of the Machine run with some close friends where people just got all kinds of turned around with the arena, there was yelling, laughing, raging, it was a blast.

CT: What are your favorite foods, music, movies, shows, etc.?

Shy: Favorite Foods? Anything that tastes good. I’ll listen to anything as long as it sounds good, today at work it was a mix of the Doom (2016) soundtrack and 80’s/90’s J-Pop. I’m starting to get into anime so long as it has plenty of episodes or a good story or art style, I’ll watch it at least once. My absolute favorite movie is The Iron Giant though, I own the limited editions collectors’ case and its signed by Brad Bird

CT: Is there any special story or significance to your gamertag?

Shy: Not really, I just thought about it one night when I was a teen and thought it sounded funny. People seem to enjoy it from time to time, and it has a nice shorthand for certain games. Plus, it’s fun to think of names to fill in the blank with, in the Discord.

CT: So, let’s talk Destiny and Clan Truth specifically. When did you first start playing Destiny, and can you tell us about what drew you to the game?

Shy: I started playing Destiny during the first Beta, I picked a warlock, and loved it from day one. What really drew me too it was the lore. I’m a sucker for in game universes that take time to establish lore, my top 3 (in no particular order) are Halo, Gears of War and Destiny.

CT: So, after all these years of Destiny, what is your primary/favorite class and why?

Shy: Warlock! Because we’re simply the best and we can float and pimp slap.

CT: Tell the people about your history with Clan Truth

Shy: So, after digging through Discord, I joined on September 24th, 2019. Witty was the first one to welcome me, and I’ve gotten the chance to get antiquated with the clan ever since. My favorite moment was the beginning of the Chronicles of Zezo, it still makes me laugh every time I read it. (It feels like you’ve been here longer than two years…)

CT: If you could remove any one weapon from the game, which one and why?

Shy: Honestly? Pulse Rifles. Ive never liked them. Don’t really know why tbh.

CT: If you could design an exotic weapon or armor, what would it be?

Shy: I’d love a weapon that allows for archetype customization, like Boolean Gemini or Khvostov from D1.

CT: Let’s get to the things people really care about. First, what is the deal with your ever-changing name? How did it start? Why does it change every 5 minutes?

Shy: I just, changed it one day and it just kinda stuck around, like I said earlier, it’s fun to think of new ones. Whenever you see a “___” in it, that means its free to be changed to whatever! (I mean, my first act as an admin was to change your name…)

CT: The hand incident. Tell us the story.

Shy: No. (I don’t believe you ever actually cut your hand.)

CT: Who is your best friend in the clan? Tell us some of your favorite things about them.

Shy: Corvian, his singing and the beard. Both are superb. He wont admit it, but we’re friends.

CT: Do you really truly think you could defeat a beat in combat without any weapons? Why do you think you are capable of this feat?

Shy: I want to fight one, I never said I wanted to win. (Please see receipt below)

CT: What is your favorite Clan Truth meme? What is your favorite regular meme?

Shy: Oh dear, I think Clan-wide? The meme of “Thank you/You’re welcome”. Out of the ones I’ve made, I think any of the ones that were digs at Witty for not getting Mythoclast. I’m very proud of them.

CT: Who do you think is the sexiest admin?

Shy: Any FT admin. Everyone in FT is sexy though.

CT: What would you say is your proudest moment?

Shy: I don’t really have one, there’s plenty of moments that I remember fondly, but nothing stands out at the moment.

CT: What would you like to tell us that we haven’t already asked?

Shy: I plan to start streaming more after the new year, so I hope to see and interact with everyone more often on the weekend! Other than that, I just want everyone to know one important thing… FT Best T!

That concludes this installment of the Truth Interview Thursday Spotlight!

Happy New Year everyone!!!
