Truth Interview Thursday Spotlight - Disconinja
Welcome to our Clan Truth Community Spotlight! This week, we are featuring our most feline of admins, the star of such hit songs as “Disco the Pink-Eared Catboy”, please welcome the Sunrise Warrior himself, Disconinja!!
CT: Hey Disco, welcome to TITS. I’m super excited to have you here today. Let’s start out with an easy question. What do you do for work?
I work in a small town making donuts, cookies, and other breakfast type foods involving breakfast croissant/biscuit sandwiches. After I’m done there, I get to babysit my nephew until it’s time for me to go to bed so I can start over again the next day.
CT: Aside from videogames, what hobbies or pastimes do you enjoy?
I really enjoy reading and cooking/baking. I don’t post pictures of my food because nobody can beat the food Duchess posts (Maybe Corvian’s brownies). (I would be offended, but I haven’t posted any food pictures of my own in ages…)
CT: What is a skill you have that you take pride in?
Me, my brother, and my sister all have this great ability to remember lines from movies/TV shows. We annoyed our mother when we were younger by quoting entire episodes of SpongeBob.
CT: Any fun facts about yourself?
I have one fucked up birthday. I have a twin sister, so obviously we share the same birthday, but I also share my birthday with my younger sister and my mother. I almost shared it with my father as well, but I was off by 13 days
CT: How long have you been playing video games and what are some of your earliest and/or favorite video game memories?
I first started playing video games when my stepdad bought an original Xbox. The first game I ever played was Halo, and it completely changed my life. It was the game that got me in trouble because I’d stay up all night playing it.
CT: What are your favorite foods, music, movies, shows, etc.?
My favorite food is definitely Italian, and lasagna if I have to be specific. I don’t really have a favorite music type, but I grew up with my father solely listening to Country so that is dear to my heart (sorry). For movies though, I can’t help but love superhero movies. I’m also a big fan of Horror movies. I’m not that big into anime but a friend recently showed me two movies that I enjoyed quite a bit.
CT: Is there any special story or significance behind your gamertag?
Not really, I wanted my own account for games, so I didn’t have to use my brother’s, so when I made the account, the first name it gave me was FunkiestCobra7 (That’s pretty sweet, not gonna lie). I thought it was hilarious but not something I wanted as a name. I used Google to find similar names and one that was given was FunkiestNinja. I loved the Ninja part but still wasn’t a fan of the funkiest thing, so I changed it to Disconinja and haven’t regretted it yet!
CT: Let’s talk a bit about Destiny and Clan Truth specifically. When did you first start playing Destiny, and can you tell us about what drew you to the game?
So, I started playing Destiny when The Taken King was out. I saw people making videos about the game but never watched anything about it. I was wanting to get a new game and a friend of mine was a huge fan of Destiny, and when I finally got it, I instantly fell in love with the game. (It’s in love with you too boo)
CT: I’m pretty sure we all know the answer, since you clearly play the best class, but what is your favorite class in Destiny and why is it Warlock?
Warlock is and forever will be my main character. It has the best jump in the game and whoever disagrees is lying. Warlocks have the best supers and everything about them are superior. My melee is literally a high-five to the face and how can you say no to that?! (man, I had your back, but even I know the bulk of our melees are shite)
CT: If you could remove any one weapon from the game, which one and why?
ShOtGuNs! Not really, if I had to choose then it’d be High Impact Fusions just because I don’t use them.
CT: If you could design an exotic weapon or armor, what would it be?
Okay so I’m actually combining two exotics and tweaking them a bit. Take Dregs Promise and the Cryosthesia 77k. Have the gun act exactly like Dregs would but have an alternate fire that’s a giant ice spike that shoots from the bottom of the gun and either does a lot of damage or freezes people.
CT: Thank you Disco, that takes care of the boiler plate stuff, now let’s really get to know you a bit better. First, the cat ears, what’s up with that?
So, the ears started as a joke, and have now ended up as a permanent stay for my look. I was buying a pink headset from Razer, and they suggested getting the cat ears for a discounted price, so I did it. Laughed about it and then spent the money on the headset with the attached glowing ones and haven’t looked back since.
CT: If we put cat ears on the FT ship, would it still be your least favorite clan?
Yes. That clan scares me. I heard one of the admins lost a hand fighting off the whole Dreadnought while only using their head. (I thought she lost her hand in a game of high stakes hokey-pokey…)
CT: We all consider you to be a catboy enthusiast, would you agree with this assessment?
I’m basically a Cat God at this point. Enthusiasts just share screenshots of nothing without an explanation.
CT: How many pixelated self-portraits do you have?
Since I don’t like my own appearance, I don’t have any, But I once knew someone who could have made me one. (we took a poll and it showed that you are, in fact, handsome)
CT: Do you have a best friend in the clan? Tell us some of your favorite things about them?
So, the two people that know me the best are Shua and Duchess. I’ve had some rough spots hit me in my life and those are the two that I feel like I can go to and talk about things without overly annoying them. I know I can be immature and annoying, but I feel like they don’t hold that against me too much. I enjoy the time I spend with them every time I get the chance, even though it isn’t much. I’m hoping I can play with them soon! (1. I almost never find you annoying, except when you move me to a different voice channel. 2. You can play with me any time you like)
CT: What is your most treasured/favorite thing you own (doesn’t have to be related to gaming)?
Actually, I started to keep the handwritten cards I’ve gotten from people. I found I enjoy the cards as much as the gifts because they actually took the time to write me something and it makes me so happy. (There’s just something magical about a hand-written card/note isn’t there?)
CT: Who do you think is the sexiest admin?
Shua is the only right answer here, But I have to say Oblivion as well because his whole mysterious I’m not letting people know what I look like thing is great. (People are probably going to start assuming I write these answers myself…)
CT: Why are you so dang precious?
I don’t feel like I let my precious side out much! I don’t think I’m that precious anyway. I annoy myself so how in the world could I be taken as precious. (You are precious, accept it already)
CT: How did you con the whole clan into not knowing you were under 18 when you joined and then somehow got them to make you an admin?
So, I had a friend that was friends with one of the old admins and asked if I could join. I was never asked my age or anything and I found out I had to be 18 to join the clans the day I turned 18. Then, for some reason, they agreed to make me an admin. Sadly, they deleted the whole conversation talking about me, so I don’t even know what they said about me.
CT: Is it true that you are actually 1/3 Golden Retriever?
And 4% Poodle!
CT: Are you better at disco dancing or ninjutsu?
I’m terrible at both. I want to say ninjutsu, but I think we all know it’s Dancing.
CT: What would you do with a drunken saylor early in the morning?
Sadly, it isn’t a drunken saylor, they are fun at parties! I’d try and sneak the sailor into an airport, because they are natural enemies. (I think we need some explanation on this one…)
CT: Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself that we haven’t covered yet?
I can’t go into details, but I like to spread a bit of chaos whenever I can. [REDACTED]. It’s Top Secret, but remember, you definitely heard it from me.
