This week at Witty's asleep, quick post goldfish pics
This week at Truth, Witty might be gone but the show must go on.
Last Wednesday, July 31st, was a difficult day for Bungie employees and the Destiny community. Another round of mass layoffs that came as a complete shock to us all, especially after the success that was The Final Shape. It was announced that 220 employees were terminated, and another 155 roles were going to be integrated into Sony Interactive Entertainment over the next few quarters. Pete Parsons also mentioned that one of their incubation projects was being spun out into a new studio under Playstation Studios, which means another ~75 employees moving away from Bungie.
There are reports of what the future holds for Destiny, and I’m sure we will see more stories in the coming weeks from ex-employees giving insight into Bungie, but please remember to have discussion with compassion and understanding regardless of if someone still wants to play the game or take a break for something else. The same goes for discussions about Bungie and the employees that are still at the studio. It is ok to be frustrated with how Bungie has been managed, but we wish nothing but the best for those that continue to work tirelessly to bring us the best game they can, and those that now must search for new work.
It's easy to feel dejected about the current state of the game, but Clan Truth will still be here to provide a space for all players who play Destiny or any other game. I plan on playing Destiny until they turn off the servers and I can’t log in anymore, and I’m sure there are plenty others who feel the same way that will still be the extra your fireteam needed to complete a raid or hop on to help clear an exotic mission.
Speaking of activities that you can group up in a fireteam for, Solstice of Heroes starts this week, which means new armor to upgrade, weapons with new traits to chase, and bonfires to light. I’m not sure if there will be any changes to the event itself this year, but based on Fallout’s video on what new rolls the weapons can get, I might actually grind out some Solstice gear.
The usual “Next Week In Destiny” in game popup didn’t seem to appear this week, so the rotators that I was able to find online were Garden of Salvation and Pit of Heresy. I’m hoping those are correct, but I guess we’ll all find out together at reset what we get to play this week!
I don’t have a Silmarillion quote for you all, but I will leave you with some wisdom from one of my favorite TV shows;
“Zuko, you must look within yourself to save yourself from your other self. Only then will your true self reveal itself”.
With love,

P.S. from Oblivion,
Clan Dad is out of town, so be sure to welcome our Lord and Savior the Magic 8-ball back into our lives.
