This Week At Vampire Slayers
-This Week At Truth, we're hunting Vampires.....er, I mean, Scorn...vampires. Maybe? In any case, we have arrived at a new Episode, Act I of Revenant launches today. Below you'll find as much Destiny-goodness as I can cram into one blog post.
-Act I launches today with the biggest change to a seasonal storyline in a while: the entirety of Act I will be available to play starting today, no time-gating for this Act, however you will still have to wait for Act II to launch later this year for that content. Seasonal story goes in the seasonal channel, with Echoes over, we will rebrand the channel to something more supernatural-y. We also have TONICS! A new system for this season, crafting and consuming tonics have the ability to enhance artifact perks as well as create more rewards from activities, offering new ways to help players and change up the game a bit.
-We know Onslaught is the seasonal activity, which includes new arenas, defense mechanics, and a new enemy race. We also got a look already at the new exotic stasis Grenade Launcher, Alethonym, which lends itself to the stasis-focused artifact perks we have seen. And speaking of weapons, this will be the first season where weapon-crafting of seasonal weapons is not available. And don't forget the new exotic armor for each class this season too! Use Rahool to your advantage to get those!
-While we don't know the strike rotation yet or the crucible rotators, we do know that new this episode is a double rotation for raids and dungeons. That means 2 raids and 2 dungeons can be run each week for pinnacles, challenges, etc. We start the season off with Last Wish and Vow of the Disciple raids, and Shattered Throne and Duality dungeons, guess I can't really call it "trio" rotators anymore.
-Speaking of raids, Garden of Salvation is getting reprised weapons! Looking forward to its rotator week to try and get some extra drops there. And speaking of Dungeons, we got a new one on Friday! Vesper's Host launches Friday at reset, not only bringing back the beloved Ice Breaker sniper rifle, but it's the first dungeon with a contest mode - available for 48 hours. If contest mode isn't your thing, Normal mode will be available after three fireteams conquer the dungeon.
-The last few TWIDs covered a lot of armor and weapon updates, so keep an eye out on today's (probably very meaty) patch notes for everything in one place.
-There's a lot more I could include, like Pathfinder changes, new armor sets and reprised weapons, PvP changes, etc., but I only have so much time to craft these. Looking forward to more story and content, and having some more fun in the game. And to all our gamer friends down south, those that may have been affected by Helene, and those that may be staring down Hurricane Milton, stay safe and we hope for the best. Cheers!
