This Week At New Year's Eve
-This Week At Truth, I decided why not do one last wrap-up blog post to end 2024 instead of waiting until next week. New Year's Eve falls on a Tuesday so you're not really getting This Week At Truth, you're getting the full-on This Year At Truth experience! While things may have died down towards the end of 2024, we will recap all the highlights around this year and look ahead to 2025!
-We started the year with some amazing charity work for Game2Give and GuardiansMH with over $1k raised kicking off a strong 2024 for good deeds.
-In March we got our hoverboards....er skimmers! Our first new rideable vehicle that gave us tons of tricks and and loop-de-loop fun
-April saw Into the Light come out with the addition of Onslaught and a bunch of returning nostalgic weapons, and the return of some favorite exotic missions
-May brought us Pantheon, the unique raid-encounter PvE challenge that I hope you remember fondly because I sure will
-June brought the heat we were waiting for all year. The Final Shape, the end of The Witness, Salvation's Edge raid, and 7 years of Clan Truth! Salvation's Edge contest mode wrecked us through and through it did. We also had our first Episode content in Echoes and The Conductor, and brand new exotic Class Items to chase. Grandmaster Excision was a thing too. After the initial hype of the DLC we started to hit our lull into the summer and.
-In August I went to Costa Rica and left the 8-ball in charge, things seemed okay.
-September brought us 10 years of Destiny and even more nostalgia to look back on.
-October began the second Episodic piece of content in Revenant with tonic crafting, Fikrul, and dead (undead?) Scorn-killing. We also got Vesper's Host dungeon and with it the first ever contest dungeon, plus the return of Icebreaker!
-November saw the early access launch of Destiny Rising and its assemblage of content to try out.
-And here we sit in a quiet December, with much to look forward to in 2025. While I could (and will) rattle off the things we are excited about in 2025 I decided to include gifv_Kayla's roadmap image as well to give you the visual aspect as well.
The conclusion of Revenant and the start of the third Episode Heresy kicks off the year with a new dungeon in Episode 3. June brings us Apollo, a six-month expansion with new stories, missions, raid, raid challenges and more through the summer and fall, split into 2 three-month "seasons". Apollo will also introduce non-linear story for us to explore and engage with in a more roguelike way than previous one-shot campaigns. Apollo's end is also expected to deliver the new aim and theme for Destiny 2's story and goals. Apollo will also change the UI and destinations forever with the Portal Screen and difficulty customization options. That will carry us through to December when Behemoth, the second of the six-month expansions begins with more new missions and stories and a new dungeon.
-I don't want to spend the end of this post hitting on negatives but there's only so much Destiny content to do week in and week out. It is a huge credit to you, those who have been around every week looking for team-ups, playing random activities, cracking jokes and having fun along the way. Clan Truth has always been about gaming for everyone, having fun and facing challenges along the way. We wouldn't be here if you weren't here so thank you.
-From all of us on the admin team, we wish you a very Happy New Year and look forward to the adventures 2025 brings. One last time in 2024, cheers!
