This Week At Grandma Got Run Over By A Sparrow

-This Week At Truth, its Grandma-hunting time. We've got all the GM-focused news and weekly update information right here for you

-Grandmaster Nightfalls begin this week. If you've never completed the Conqueror seal before, you can do each weekly GM while it is active for the rewards, including Ascendant Shards and Prisms, exotic armor drops, and the Adept version of the weekly featured weapon. This week, we begin with the Insight Terminus Strike and Mindbender's Ambition shotgun. 

-In last week's TWAB, Bungie clarified the changes we will see with GM entry. The activities are still a challenging -25 power difference, but now you will get that difference at a PL of 1595, meaning the grind to access them has been minimized significantly. You can also enter these GM Nightfalls with a 1580 PL, but be warned entering at 1580 means you will face enemies 40 PLs above yours. 1595 gives you the maximum benefit

-For the returning Conquerors, you'll be able to gild your seal right away this week as has been the case. For all interested parties, be sure to use our @Grandmaster ping if you are venturing in with other brave souls between now and the end of the season.

-Speaking of season, keep an eye out if the seasonal story progresses this week. All story beats get discussed in #season-of-ra-ra-rasputin like always, keep the spoilers out of our general channels. The rest of this week also brings Mayhem to the Crucible, and all nightfalls have bonus rewards! Kargen is a great week to stock up on exotics or ascendant shards. Rotating Pinnacles come from Garden of Salvation and Pit of Heresy.

-ICYMI, Bungie's first TWAB of the new year covered some nice QoL changes, including all mods being unlocked for all players (except raid mods). Note that they may not appear in your Collections but can be slotted onto the appropriate armor. Weapon focusing costs Crucible, Gambit, Trials and Iron Banner are also all reduced. When Iron Banner returns in a few weeks you will notice extra reputation gains which should significantly lower the grind towards resetting ranks. 

-a huge happy birthday shoutout to onehandedbanditt! Hope everyone that was able to hang for her community event Saturday had a great time and enjoyed themselves. If you have an idea for a community event be sure to pass it on to an admin so we can help you out with getting something worked out. 

-RIP in peace to the big homie, Stadia. We'll always remember the good times and what could have been We'll reminisce about the days of Stadia Trials lobbies, we'll long for the days of simple checkpoint sharing from kind Guardians like Luckstruck and the Checkpointbot friends, and I sure will miss being able to load up on my phone to do bounties or nonsense while I had downtime. Pour one out........

-This week you may notice a few more discord changes we will be testing out. One of these will be Checkpoint sharing forums. Aside from Luckstruck9's server, and the D2Checkpoint bot website, the goal here is to minimize the number of pings from people only looking for checkpoints - the pings are for when you are Looking For a Group or Looking For More players to complete an activity. We do not want those pings to be abused by individuals who are only using them to get a checkpoint. Taking the lead from other servers, we will have try out a 'Checkpoint Sharing' forum, where players can post what checkpoint(s) they are looking for, or can post if they have a checkpoint and are willing to share it. 

-The other change we will be trying out is a 'Sherpa Requested' forum. A lot of posts late in a season like this are usually for 'quick runs' and we know that isn't always helpful for brand new players. This will allow individuals to give a more detailed post about what activity they need a sherpa in, their availability, etc., without having to worry about posts/pings being buried, they will instead stay visible for longer. Both of these systems we will keep an eye on for their use and development.
